ENTRY & QUALIFICATION
9. (i) Entries shall close at the time advertised.
Failure to submit before the specified date will result
in the entry being declined.
10. Only entries received
on the Official Entry Form will be accepted.
11. Any entry which is received without the entry
fee will be declined.
12. A race may be declared void
at the discretion of the organisers if less than six
entries are received by the time entries close.
13. For ponies measuring between 136cm & 138cm
and 146cm & 148cm in height, a valid JMB Certificate
must be made available at Declaration.
14. Entries
must be accompanied by a copy of the ponys passport
and failure to provide this with any entry will result
in the entry being declined.
15. Entries will be accepted on the following basis;
(a) First Priority entries submitted by the
Master, Member, Subscribers of the Hunt / Pony Club
staging the Pony Race. (b) Second Priority
entries submitted by the Master, Member, Subscribers
of 4 Hunts / Pony Clubs that hold their Pointto- Points
on the venue where the Pony Race is being staged.
(c) Third Priority entries submitted by the
Master, Member, Subscribers of the Hunts / Pony Clubs
confined (as per Point-to-Point regulations) to the
Hunt staging the Pony Race. (d) Entry forms completed
and signed by a parent or legal guardian will include
certification of the Rider and ponies eligibility
and suitability by either the Master or Secretary
of the qualifying Hunt or the District commissioner
of the Pony Club.
MEDICAL CARDS & PARENTAL
RESPONSIBILITY
16. The parent / legal guardian and Rider involved
with any PRA recognised Pony Race must abide by the
Pony Racing Regulations or will become a disqualified
person. (Regulations 67-73).
17. It is the parent / legal guardians sole
responsibility to ensure that their child is fit to
ride.
18. Riders must be in possession of a Medical Card
or Armband which must be presented for inspection
to the nominated Official when declaring the pony
to run on the day, and be worn at all times when mounted.
In the event of a Medical Card not being available
a fine of £25 will be imposed on the day and
the Rider will not be permitted to take part.
19. The welfare and safety of the Rider participating
in the Pony Race is the sole responsibility of the
parent / legal guardian whilst at the venue and should
the Rider fall whilst riding it will be the parent
/ legal guardians responsibility to present
the Rider to the Medical Officer on duty on the day.
20. The parent / legal guardian shall be fined and
responsible for paying the fee of any fine imposed
upon their pony and / or Rider for any breaches of
the Pony Racing Regulations.
PONY IDENTIFICATION AND VACCINATION
21. No pony shall be permitted to take part in any
PRA recognised Pony Race unless accompanied by its
current valid Vaccination certificate and Passport.
22. Every pony must have a valid Vaccination Certificate,
which undeniably relates to that pony, completed,
signed and stamped on each line by a Veterinary Surgeon,
who is not the owner of the animal. It must state
that the pony has received two injections for primary
vaccination against Equine Influenza given no less
than 21 days and no more than 92 days apart. (Only
these first two injections need to have been given
before the pony may compete). In addition, a first
booster injection must be given no less than 150 days
and no more than 215 days after the second injection
of the primary vaccination. Subsequently, booster
injections must be given at intervals of not more
than one year apart (anniversary injections are acceptable
eg. 1st March each year), commencing after the first
booster injection. None of these injections must have
been given within the preceding seven days, including
the day of the Pony Race.
23. A Passport will not be
regarded as being completed as required under the
Pony Racing Regulations if any record of vaccinations
against Equine Influenza is altered in any way. An
incorrect entry must be deleted and a new entry made,
signed by the Veterinary Surgeon who was responsible
for giving the vaccination.
24. The owner of any pony which enters the racecourse
on the day on which a PRA Pony Race under the Pony
Racing Regulations shall be guilty of an offence when
either: - that pony has not been vaccinated as required
for which a fine of £25 will be imposed on the
day - the vaccination section of the Passport has
not been endorsed as required or the said document
is not available for inspection as required for which
a fine of £25 will be imposed on the day.
25. If there is a breach of Regulation 21 the pony
will not be permitted to run on the day.
26. It shall be the responsibility of the parent /
legal guardian to ensure that when any pony enters
the racecourse on the day on which a PRA Pony Race
is held that its Passport is available for inspection
at any time while it is on that property. It is also
the responsibility of the parent / legal guardian
of a pony to ensure at all times vaccinations required
under the Pony Racing Regulations have been correctly
administered and properly entered on the Passport.
